The Fund-A-Need at the 2020 Purple & Gold Gala will support the Riordan Renaissance Campaign, specifically upgrades to the boys and girls bathrooms.
Archbishop Riordan High School announced its decision to go coed and accept girls inJanuary of 2020. Since that decision, the school's enrollment has increased from 660 boys in June 2020 to 988 boys and girls in August of 2021, a 50% increase in 14 months. This is Riordan's highest enrollment in 40 years and excitement about Riordan is near an all-time high. We received 790 applications for the 9th grade class last year, our most ever, and we anticipate a larger number this year. To continue to provide an exceptional educational experience and to remain competitive, Riordan needs to upgrade its facilities. This includes technological and aesthetic upgrades. Classrooms need to be renovated, wifi upgraded, bathrooms need to be converted and remodeled and hallways and landscaping need to be refreshed. Some areas of the school building have not been renovated since its opening in 1949. Our growing student body and interest in Riordan provide us a unique opportunity to build a campus we can all be proud of.
Not only is Riordan rising; we are thriving. The success of Catholic education in SanFrancisco requires a successful Riordan. We must meet the current challenge of funding these coed transition projects fully and I invite you to invest inRiordan's continued and future success.
